Lisbon Essentials Free Walking Tour

Baixa, Chiado and the story of the city that rebuilt itself

4.9 (3,120) · Hosted by Lisbon Native Walks

From the grand riverfront of Praça do Comércio to the elegant ruins of Carmo Convent, this tour connects Lisbon’s greatest hits with the story that explains them all: the earthquake, tsunami and fire of 1755, and the audacious rebuild that followed. You’ll ride nothing but your own two feet — and still cover five centuries.

The walk starts at Praça Luís de Camões (Largo Luís de Camões, Chiado, Lisbon) and runs daily at 10:00 and daily at 15:00. It lasts around 2.5 hours, is offered in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and the group is capped at 25 people so the experience stays personal. Look for the guide with the green FreeTour sign.
