La Laguna sits in the north of Tenerife and was the island's capital for several centuries. Its old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with convents, churches and merchant houses along streets named after the trades that once filled them. A guide helps you read what each building was for.
The free tour lasts about two hours and stays on foot in the centre. Booking costs nothing and you tip the guide at the end, as much as you think it was worth.
Good to know before you go
- The city in the north is often cooler and cloudier than the south coast of the island, so bring a light layer and comfortable shoes.
- Groups are limited to 6 people, even across separate bookings. Larger groups are asked to book a private tour instead.
- The tour is wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets, but you must say so when you book.
