Berlin Cold War Free Tour
Life, death and escape along the Wall
For 28 years a concrete scar split this city — families, streets, even cemeteries. This tour follows the Wall’s trace through the Mitte and Wedding border strip, telling the stories of tunnels, hot-air balloons and fake diplomatic cars that carried people across, and of those who never made it.
The walk starts at Pariser Platz (Brandenburg Gate) (Pariser Platz, 10117 Berlin) and runs daily at 11:00. It lasts around 2.5 hours, is offered in English, German, Spanish, and the group is capped at 25 people so the experience stays personal. Look for the guide with the green FreeTour sign.
