Kreuzberg Street Art & Counterculture Free Tour

Murals, squats and the Berlin that refuses to grow up

4.8 (1,120) · Hosted by Berlin Unlocked

West Berlin’s walled-in island bred a culture of squatters, punks and painters that still defines the city’s soul. This walk through Kreuzberg decodes massive murals, visits legendary house projects and explains how Turkish guest workers, anarchists and artists built Europe’s counterculture capital — and what gentrification is doing to it.

The walk starts at Pariser Platz (Brandenburg Gate) (Pariser Platz, 10117 Berlin) and runs Tuesday to Sunday at 12:00. It lasts around 2.5 hours, is offered in English, German, Spanish, and the group is capped at 25 people so the experience stays personal. Look for the guide with the green FreeTour sign.
